About Us

Equip Disciples was formed to facilitate missions aimed at building up and training Christian leaders who will be able to train others also.

And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, commit to faithful individuals who will be able to teach others also. (2 Timothy 2.2)

We see the opportunity and the responsibility for Christians, irrespective of their status as clergy or laity, to participate in Jesus' call to disciple all peoples.  This begins in one's own home and can extend to the ends of the earth.  The founders are simply compelled by the love of Christ to use God-given gifts to reach out locally and globally as God gives opportunity, and to encourage others to do likewise.

Equip Disciples focuses especially on reaching into economically challenged regions and reaching out to believers disadvantaged by legacies of war, persecution, culture, or prejudice. God has not left these peoples behind, and wants to lift them up and strengthen them to become a powerful, dynamic body of believers obedient to his kingship, reaching out to their neighbors and beyond.

The work of ministry must never be relegated to professionals, but is by design and commission the responsibility of every believer. We welcome and encourage the cooperative efforts of laypeople and full-time ministers alike in our missions and ministry efforts. Likewise, our ministries seek to train and equip laymen, laywomen, and clergy alike.

So our goal is to equip disciples in order to build up the Body of Christ and to further the Kingdom of God. But how, do we put that into practice? Here are some specific objectives and purposes to implement our goal:

  1. to engage in missions and ministries to further Godís Kingdom and the edification of the Body of Christ through training and equipping disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ;
  2. to facilitate the ministry of local church members in missions by providing a framework and resources for direct mission involvement;
  3. to partner with international believers, ministries, or organizations in discipleship mission work at home or abroad;
  4. to facilitate the development of culturally reproducible training materials such as HIV/AIDS education, theological discipleship materials, trauma counseling, or childrenís discipleship materials;
  5. to provide resources and expert consultation to aid Bible Translation projects across the world;
  6. to assist others in starting new ministries or missions aimed at evangelism and discipleship;
  7. to support the work of other ministries by providing economically efficient resources, i.e. Bibles, audio devices, discipleship materials, and other resources useful for the growth of the Kingdom;
  8. to engage in any other activities related to the work of discipleship ministries.
